Ariel loves watching clients gain insight and create sustainable change in their lives by offering them a safe and sacred space to process that might not be available to them in other areas of their lives. When you work with Ariel, you’re able to witness firsthand what a safe and healthy relationship looks like: a healing experience for those who haven’t had that before.

Meet Ariel

Ariel received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and her Master’s degree in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining True North Counseling, Ariel worked for over 5 years in various treatment centers, including Residential treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders and Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient treatment for eating disorders. Ariel most recently worked for Metro Nashville Police Department Victims Division serving adult victims and children.

Ariel works with clients ages 10+. She employs various strategies with children and adolescents such as play therapy. For adult clients, Ariel has specializations in EMDR as well as Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. She particularly enjoys working with individuals and couples on relationship issues and healthy dating; life transitions, including children adjusting to divorce or parental separation; trauma reprocessing; and eating disorders and negative body image.

If Ariel wasn’t a therapist, you’d probably find her owning a dog rescue. Ariel loves spending quality time with her husband, snuggling with her dogs, grabbing dinner with a friend, and walking at a nearby greenway. Oh, and Friends fans rejoice – she’s seen every episode more times than you can count!
